"I’m Diana Silver, and I’ve been a teacher, in schools and universities in several countries round the world, for longer than I care to tell you. I was flattered to be asked by the "Bridges" project to act as Consultora Linguística e Científica: it sounds a very grand title for what can sometimes be quite mechanical work, but work that requires some critical awareness of pedagogic practice and an eagle eye for detail – and I confess that I don’t always feel very eagle-like! Fortunately in the case of "Bridges" it has had its rewards as well as its responsibilities, for I was part of a remarkable team of teachers (and publishers). They have been endlessly creative in finding and assembling materials and activities that will, I think, interest and challenge young people – challenge them both in terms of ideas, and of the language they will need to understand and to produce.
I particularly appreciate the way that students are encouraged to think outside the box of their immediate school and social environment, and to discover the wider world, its problems and challenges.

I was expecting a coursebook, so I was surprised at the extent of the additional features of "Bridges". It’s been a lot of work, but the amount of stimulating material at the disposal of teachers - and, just as important, of individual learners - is impressive.
I hope you the teachers, and your students, have a good time crossing all those bridges to English."

Estou ansiosa por deitar a mão ao Bridges. Depois deste post, ainda mais. Falta muito?
